Actress Nargis Fakhri gained immense love and fame for portraying Heer Kaul in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar. Since the 2011 musical drama, Nargis also features in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’s item song, Main Tera Hero, Azhar, Housefull 3 and many more films. During a recent interaction, the actress shared her honest thoughts about the dance numbers in Bollywood films.

From opening up about feeling exhausted by certain aspects of the industry to discussing how she finds Bollywood dancing ‘as alien as Hindi’, read on to know all she shared.

Nargis Fakhri on Bollywood dancing

During a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, Nargis Fakhri got candid about facing unfortunate situations which made her take a break from films for a long time. While stating that the need to cater to male egos in the industry did not cause her to recoil or leave Bollywood, the actress added, “I have met and worked with some wonderful people and really appreciate them.”

Talking about Bollywood’s ‘tough’ conventional dance routines, the actress – who starred in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’s item songs Dhating Naach, said, “The heaving thrusting b*tt-moving is tough. When they give you the movements forty minutes before they are shot and then you have to learn the steps and lip-sync, you have to be a seasoned dancer to get a hang of it, which I am not. It’s very difficult for my mind and body to be in sync because I have learned western dancing. Bollywood dancing is very different.”

She continued, “Bollywood dancing is as alien to me as Hindi. I am just enjoying learning it. There is a lot of heaving and b**b-thrusting, which I found difficult at first. But I was okay after a while. There are so many people indulging in so many activities on the sets. Come to think of it, everything here in Mumbai is culturally very different from everywhere else.”
